[S3E2] The Hybrid

Stefan and Klaus are still at Tennessee reaching at Ray's pack at the Smokey Mountains with Ray (David Gallagher) still being dead. Klaus introduces himself to the pack and explains what he wants from them. When Ray wakes up, he makes him complete his transformation and then Klaus makes the rest of the werewolves hybrids as well. After the transformation, something is not right and all the new hybrids eventually die with Klaus not understanding what went wrong. In the meantime, Ray runs away and Stefan goes to find him but Ray bites him and runs away again.

Damon, Alaric and Elena run into Ray walking through the woods. He rushes Damon and has the upper hand. They try vervain darts, but they do nothing. Elena tosses Damon the wolf's bane bomb and that scalds him. They realize he's a hybrid.

You have to give props to The Vampire Diaries costume and make-up department. I was very impressed with how realistic the blood and wounds looked. I have watched a ton of vampire-type genre shows and movies, but was especially blown away with how creepy the vamps and hybrids looked in this episode. Another note, I too wondered what Klaus needs Stefan for in his plans. Klaus has already shown he is the strongest supe the show has ever seen. Why would he even deal with Stefan, whom is a relatively young vampire in comparison?

Mulder and Scully return to Klemper's greenhouse, finding the Well-Manicured Man there. He admits to knowing Mulder's father and states that during the Cold War Mulder's father helped gather genetic data for post-apocalyptic identification - data Klemper used to work on alien-human hybrids. When Mulder's father learned of this, he threatened to expose them, so Samantha was taken to ensure his silence.

Later in the episode, Grogu is attacked by a small dragon-like creature. These flying beasts are shown to rest in the lower depths of Mandalore's caves and attack anything in sight. Similarly, a fascinating droid-creature hybrid is shown to lurk in Mandalore's caves in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 2. This monstrosity attacks Din, before being later destroyed by Bo-Katan using the Darksaber. The creature is somewhat organic, only with added droid components that make it a formidable opponent.

The Purple Hybrid Premier is a competitively-priced luxury hybrid mattress. It isn't marketed as a cooling mattress, per se, but it's made from a unique gel grid that has thousands of air channels inside to boost airflow and keep you cool. This grid works in tandem with a layer of coils, and flexes under your shoulders and hips to relieve pressure while supporting your spine.

The Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Breeze is a luxury cooling mattress that offers more variety than Casper Wave Hybrid Snow. There's the Pro Breeze, which promises a three degrees cooler sleep and comes in a full-foam medium or medium hybrid option.

Recently, I interviewed Joseph, a very well-regarded senior HR leader in the public service. During our LYLTalk podcast prep, I asked him what he thought about the move to a hybrid model as we move toward establishing post-pandemic workplaces. Joseph was quick to exclaim,

Other examples of hybrid models that have been in existence for a long time include sales forces who spend their days on the road, flight crews who spend their days in the air, tradespeople on the construction job sites, and research teams collecting data during the course of field studies. In addition, many multinational corporations have been running virtual international teams for decades.

What is new, is the sheer magnitude of the move to hybrid workplaces in a post-pandemic world. Rather than just a few employers adopting this approach as part of their preferred business model, it is now being instituted across the board, on a much larger scale. We find ourselves in an unprecedented time and there is no going back. We are breaking new ground in a world and global market that is chock-full of uncertainty. This has left many leaders across industries scratching their heads as they try to figure out what is the right fit model for their businesses to thrive in a post-pandemic world.

In addition to the resistance that typically accompanies corporate transformation, there are key issues that feed the resistance and are preventing certain leaders from fully embracing hybrid workplaces. Two that I'd like to delve deeper into include:

Many of my coaching clients start off that way. "I am burnt-out and want to delegate but I don't know how." Moving to a hybrid workplace where a portion of your employees work virtually, and others may come in only on certain days of the week, raises the bar on the ability to empower, equip, and to delegate. It requires a new level of skill, and trust in oneself and in others.

And so, you know, some of the things we're looking at are, you know, how we can do conferences going forward. We think the Seattle conference was a hybrid mix. It went very well. Is that something we're going to be able to do going forward? We'll just have to evaluate that and see. So, we're going to be thoughtful about planning ahead, knowing that, um, circumstances can always change. That's sort of our goal, uh, for now. So as for what I will do when a president that's in COVID terms as too far away in the future for anybody to even think about. Jenny: And I absolutely agree with you. Just two years ago, you know, I had the URMIA kind of scheduled down, you know, I knew exactly what was happening when - COVID has really turned, turned, everything upside down and you, I mean, we know how quickly things change and how quickly we have to react now. I, I think you're, you're very wise to not try to predict the future because it's a tough one. So I want to switch the focus here. Uh, one of the things that that came about at the conference, which does every time we have a conference, is a lot of our wonderful members want to volunteer for URMIA. And I know it's a big initiative of Courtney's to, find good volunteer positions for our. Um, so I wanted to, for you guys to kind of share quickly, like how you got started in URMIA and like your path, how you got around this table to the presidential table of URMIA, why don't we start with you Courtney?

Okay, so forcing people like, my school, it got to the point where it was hybrid, and then almost everybody had to go back to school. And I thought that that was just ridiculous, because a lot of people like felt like unsafe. And doing hybrid, I guess was like a, like, we're gonna go back. And like, everybody wants to go back really badly. And then like, right now, I think my home school is completely back to school. And I don't think that's good. I think that's like, like, I think it's just ridiculous again, because like some people, a lot of people got COVID. And, yeah, I just, I don't know, just the fact that they were forcing people to go back now. And the school that we go to, there's a long waiting list. So it's not like you really get to choose unless you're like, first come first serve. So. 041b061a72
